This is a continuation of the previous feature with information provided by Charlie Lindmar

In the convertible race, Curtis Turner took top honors over Lee Petty and Joe Weatherly. Frankie Schneider finished 11th and Bill Wimble was 25th.

As these drivers moved on to a new and different era, they brought with them years of experience, from engine building, car setups, fabrication, safety, engineering and driving skills. They were moving on to a newer and more modern racing facility; even so, with all of their knowledge and abilities to date, they would still face a new set of challenges that the newer tracks would present.

For those of you who have read this account of racing history of beach racing in Daytona, you'll come away with a better appreciation for all of the men who raced there, especially our favorites from the northeast.
