The Air Jordan 16 Bred was originally released on February 17th, 2001 and was later part of the Air Jordan 7 / Air Jordan 16 Countdown Package in 2008.Something that a lot of people may not know or remember is the fact that the Air Jordan 16 was’t designed by Tinker Hatfield. Instead, Tinker passed the project over to Nike’s Senior Footwear Designer Wilson Smith. This was the first time since the Air Jordan 3 that Tinker wasn’t behind the design.Smith decided to use different elements and fabrics from past Air Jordan releases for the Air Jordan 16. He brought back the clear soles and also used patent leather that became famous from the Air Jordan 11.This release features an all-Black leather upper with a patent leather toe, as well as Varsity Red contrasting accents and a clear outsole. One of the key features to the silhouette is the its unique gaiter that covers the shoe giving it a new look. It would later be used for stylish purposes.Take a closer look at the Air Jordan 16 Bred below and let us know what you guys think of this release in the comments section.
